Although T-Mobile's 8/20 update states that there is currently no indication that customers' financial or credit card information was compromised, we urge BankFive customers to regularly check their accounts for unusual activity, and to routinely update their Online Banking passwords. For more information on Online Banking security please visit our 5 Ways to Keep Your Online Banking Account Secure article.
If you are a T-Mobile customer, we ask that you pay extra attention to your bank accounts, even if you have not been identified by T-Mobile as an individual involved in their recent data breach. If hackers have even a small amount of information about you, they could use it to gain more, and potentially access your financial accounts.
Please keep the following in mind:
• BankFive will never initiate a phone call, email, or text message to you asking for your account information, sensitive personal information, or passwords.
• You can’t always believe caller ID or the “sender” name in an email. Scammers have been known to mask their phone numbers and email sender information to make it look like the communication is coming from a legitimate company.
• If you are ever concerned about a communication claiming to be BankFive, hang up the phone, or exit the text message or email, and call us back at our main public phone number to ask about the communication. Our Customer Contact Center can be reached at (774) 888-6100.
