“The organizations on this year’s diverse list are driving innovation across the country, from increased manufacturing capacity to breakthroughs in clinical care and therapeutics”, said The Women’s Edge CEO Elizabeth L. Hailer. “We are honored to celebrate the top 100 women leaders and hope it inspires others to drive for success here in our region and beyond.”
This is the first year that BankFive has appeared on the list, ranking 65th out of 100. BankFive was also one of 17 new organizations on the list this year.
"It is an honor for BankFive to be included in The Women’s Edge and The Boston Globe’s Top 100 Women-Led Business List in Massachusetts,“ said BankFive’s CEO Anne Tangen. “Women have worked long and hard for a seat at the table and this award celebrates that success. I hope lists such as theirs continue to showcase the role women play in the success of the state’s economy and gives hope to those starting out that these leadership roles are realistic and attainable goals.”
This is the 22nd year that The Women’s Edge – a Boston-based nonprofit organization devoted to advancing women in leadership positions — has published the list. The list is created through a nomination process and includes both for-profit and non-profit organizations. This is the 10th year that the list was created in collaboration with The Boston Globe. In addition to revenue and operating budget, factors considered in the evaluation process included workplace and management diversity, board makeup, and innovative projects. The full list will be published in the Globe Magazine’s Women & Power issue at bostonglobe.com/magazine on October 28th and in print on October 30th.
“We're proud to once again partner with The Women’s Edge to recognize these 100 remarkable companies—and the remarkable women who lead them,” said Globe Magazine editor Francis Storrs. “It's a privilege to celebrate this year’s honorees for all they’ve accomplished, and for the example they're setting for future generations of leaders.”
