The Massachusetts Bankers Association (MBA) announced that BankFive President and CEO Anne P. Tangen has been elected to its 20-member Board of Directors.
Founded in 1905, the MBA is the only Association representing FDIC-insured community, regional and nationwide banks serving consumer and business clients across the Commonwealth.
“As a dynamic industry, it is essential that the Association have perspectives of banking leaders like Anne who provide expertise and experience that enable us to achieve our priorities of providing exceptional resources, advocacy and thought leadership for our members, strengthening them as they serve their clients and communities,” MBA’s President and CEO Kathleen Murphy said. “The market knowledge that Anne brings enables the Association to anticipate and respond to emerging banking needs and trends that help our members as they serve an extensive consumer and business footprint across the Commonwealth.”
“I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors for our industry’s Association, which has represented the interests and needs of large and small banks across Massachusetts for 118 years,” Tangen said. “BankFive is thrilled to take a leadership role at the Association, and we look forward to sharing the perspective of a community bank as the Association continues to tackle the major issues facing the industry.”
