BankFive announced today that its Chief Human Resources Officer Christina Johnk has received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Fall River Rotary Club. The award recognizes individuals who have gone above and beyond to make significant contributions to their local communities and exemplifies the Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” Christina is a Rotarian of the Fall River Rotary Club.
“A Rotarian since 2023, Christina brought her energy and passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion to the Rotary Club of Fall River by co-presenting ‘The Importance of Diversity’ as a program during one of our weekly meetings. She assumed a leadership position as the co-chair of our Club's DEI Committee this year, serves on the Rotary District 7950 DEI Committee, and co-chaired the District 7950 THRIVE Forum in April," said Darcy H. Lee, Rotary Club of Fall River President, 2023-2024. "Christina was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow today at our Rotary Meeting at White's of Westport for her volunteer work as a Rotarian and for serving on several boards in our area, including the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Fall River, where she chaired the 2024 annual campaign to help to raise more than $1.2 million for our community."
Christina plays a crucial role at BankFive where she oversees all aspects of the Bank’s human resources operations, including recruitment, performance management, talent and succession planning.
“Christina is an essential part of the BankFive team. Her dedication and passion to her role and our company are unparalleled,” said Anne P. Tangen, President and CEO of BankFive. “She prioritizes creating engaging connections with those in her community, both inside and outside the bank. There is no one more deserving of this award.”
Christina is just as committed to her BankFive Community as she is to her local community. Along with being a member of the Rotary Club, she is a Board Member at United Way of Fall River and the Fall River Historical Society, and is a former Board President of the Rhode Island Homeless Shelter.
