Today, BankFive announced that it will be donating $40,000 to the Coalition for Health Equity and Early Childhood Development (HEED) through its BankFive Foundation alongside the SouthCoast Community Foundation. The donation aligns with BankFive’s mission of supporting organizations that have a direct impact on community well-being, specifically in the areas of early childhood development and education.
The donation will support HEED’s mission of creating a future where every child has an equal opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of background or circumstance. HEED programs are focused on early childhood development with the goal of reducing developmental delays and preparing children for both academic and social success. They aim to break poverty cycles and improve life outcomes.
“We are confident this partnership will strengthen our capacity to serve and create the change we envision,” said Executive Director of HEED, Kelly Rebeiro-Oliveira. “We are deeply grateful for BankFive’s generous support and commitment to our shared vision and their help with our expanded outreach efforts. This grant is a meaningful affirmation of our mission, and we are thrilled to have BankFive alongside us as we continue to expand our efforts to make a lasting impact in our community.”
The BankFive Foundation was established in 2011 in partnership with the SouthCoast Community Foundation to bring about positive change and create a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities in need by providing financial support to the local community through grants that enrich programs and services provided by organizations that serve low- and moderate-income households.
“We are pleased to contribute to HEED’s vision of creating a society where health equity is a reality and early childhood development is prioritized,” said Anne P. Tangen, President and CEO of BankFive. “Our investment in their communications platform will help HEED strengthen its impact and expand its support base. Fall River and New Bedford neighborhoods often face barriers to healthcare access, quality early childhood education, and resources critical for healthy development. We are proud that the BankFive Foundation can support efforts to close these gaps and invest in our coastal Massachusetts communities.” BankFive’s contribution will be allocated towards enhancing HEED’s podcast and promotional materials in an effort to broaden its reach, attract additional sponsorships, and increase community awareness of its initiatives.
"BankFive’s generous support reflects their commitment to fostering stronger, more equitable communities here on the South Coast,” said Melanie Edwards-Tavares, President & CEO of the SouthCoast Community Foundation. “Their leadership in local philanthropy sets an inspiring example, and we are honored to have them as a partner. We are truly grateful for their role in helping create brighter futures for children and families throughout our region.”
