If Brittany Schmidt had the chance to spend the day with one famous person from the past or present, she wouldn't need to think twice about who she would pick.
"I would love to spend the day with Alex Trebek," she says. "I admire the courageous way he faced his cancer battle and continued to show up and host Jeopardy despite all he was going through. His passion for knowledge, for the show, and for the contestants cannot be denied."
It would seem that Brittany herself has a passion for banking. She's dedicated 13 years of her life to the banking industry thus far! Starting out as a Teller, Brittany has worked her way through several positions at BankFive, including Branch Assistant, Commercial Credit Analyst, and Commercial Relationship Manager.
Today, Brittany holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and all of her past banking positions have led her to her current role of Commercial Loan Officer at BankFive, where she's responsible for establishing and maintaining a commercial loan portfolio; helping commercial borrowers with things like loan transactions, mortgages, equipment term notes, and lines of credit.
"I like the team aspect at BankFive," Brittany says. "Everyone is willing to work together and help each other out to ensure we get the job done and provide the best service to our customers."
When Brittany's not in the office or on the road helping her commercial customers, she spends a lot of time volunteering. She's affiliated with the Rotary Club of Fall River, Fall River TDI Partnership, the Fall River YMCA Board of Advisors, and the United Way of Fall River. She also donates her time to the United Way of New Bedford and Junior Achievement.
But it's not all work and no play for Brittany! Reading, crafting, and shopping help fill her spare hours. She's also a big fan of Mexican food and loves to vacation anywhere tropical.
If she hadn't ended up in the banking industry, Brittany says she likely would have pursued a career as an accountant or hair stylist. We're happy she chose banking!
