The Invest MA Loan Program aims to support economic stability and encourage job growth and retention by providing financing to eligible1 small businesses and entrepreneurs in Massachusetts.
A promotional interest rate floating daily at the published Wall Street Journal Prime Rate -1.00% will be offered for the first two years of the loan, pending credit worthiness. As of 12/21/2024, the variable introductory rate would be 6.500% APR2.
- Minimum loan amount is $10,000 and maximum loan amount is $1,000,000
- 5, 7, or 10-year loan terms available
- No pre-payment penalty
- Funds from financing must be used to support business expansion, new construction3, equipment purchases, or other initiatives that support the creation and/or retention of jobs in Massachusetts
- The loan recipient must establish a depository relationship with BankFive prior to loan closing and must maintain the deposit relationship throughout the life of the loan

1Loan recipient must be a small business with annual gross revenue of less than $5,000,000. Veteran-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned businesses are encouraged to apply. Loan recipient must demonstrate that the loan will support job creation and/or retention with reporting on a quarterly basis. Approved loans will be subject to a $250 loan documentation fee. This loan product will be available for application to eligible small businesses until January of 2026, unless otherwise extended by BankFive.
2APR During the Introductory Period: For the first 24 months, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is Wall Street Journal "WSJ" Prime Rate minus 1.000%, floating on a daily basis. During this time the APR is variable and subject to change with the WSJ Prime Rate as published. As of 12/21/2024, the introductory APR in effect would be 6.500% based on Wall Street Journal Prime Rate of 7.500%. APR After the Introductory Period: After the first 24 months, the 1.000% discount will end, and the rate will adjust beginning on the 25th month to the WSJ Prime Rate as published +1.000%, floating on a daily basis. The rate will never adjust below 5.000%. APR is variable and subject to change as the WSJ Prime Rate changes as often as daily.
